While browsing Ebay’s RC section recently, we came across what has to be one of the coolest Traxxas Rustler based custom builds we’ve ever seen. As the seller tells it, the project began with an ordinary Traxxas Rustler chassis that was modified to fit a 1/8 scale ’32 Ford Coupe resin body shell. A very detailed supercharged V8 engine with hand made headers, as well as a highly detailed interior with bucket seats and seat belt harness, were added to finish the body off. For the chassis side of things, custom Integy aluminum a-arms, aluminum turnbuckles, and aluminum shocks were bolted on.
A cool looking body on a custom Traxxas Rustler chassis is great, but what about those wheels? You sure wouldn’t want to bolt a set of stock Rustler wheels on it and call it a day. No, the builder decided to go further with a set of front wheels and tires from a Vaterra Glamis Fear buggy and aluminum Weld wheels with Goodyear slicks out back. For electronics the builder went with Traxxas XL-5 ESC and 12t brushed motor. To make it roar, he even added one of those recently announced Traxxas On Board Audio modules! Sweet!!!!
