Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer Trophy Truck Officially Unveiled!

Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer RC Trophy Truck
Mere hours after seeing the first pictures of the new Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer we get the full details of this awesome RC trophy truck! Features include an inverted composite tub chassis with an integrated roll cage, a one piece polycarbonate body pre-painted in your choice of Fox or Rigid paint schemes, a detailed interior with driver and co-pilot figures, an independent front suspension system with dual shocks per wheel, a solid rear axle, front and center 4 gear sealed differentials with a spool out back, and functional spare wheels and driveshaft. As for electronics, the Desert Racer is powered by a 2200kv brushless motor mated to a Velineon VLX-6 ESC that helps it achieve top speeds of over 50 mph. Control comes way of a TQi 2.4Ghz radio system with a 2075X metal gear servo handling the steering chores. Best of all, the Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer is expected to go on sale early next month!

Pro-Scale Performance
Pro-Scale is a new Traxxas innovation that captures true-scale realism and combines it with extreme 6s LiPo power and 50+ mph performance. The Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer faithfully captures the look and feel of Trophy Trucks and Unlimited Trick Trucks as they charge hard across the desert at full speed.

Driving Realism
The Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer is engineered on an authentic, true to scale 4-wheel drive desert race truck chassis. The 4-link solid rear axle design provides huge suspension travel with authentic driving dynamics. From the cantilever sway bars to the 8 GTR shocks, Traxxas has accurately reproduced a true unlimited desert race chassis in both form and function.

6S Extreme Power
The 50+ mph Unlimited Desert Racer delivers its pro-level performance with brutal 6s power. The VXL-6s ESC combines massive power handling with high-tech telemetry features. An ultra-tough drivetrain harnesses the extreme power to make it easy to control and fun to drive.

Solid Rear Axle
The unlimited desert race chassis’ unique solid rear axle design combines with the 4-link geometry to eliminate torque twist. It puts 6s power to the ground like nothing else, tracking arrow straight while accelerating and then rotating on demand for effortless on-throttle power slides. The authentic true-scale driving dynamics challenge your skill behind the wheel in fun and exciting new ways.

Pro-Scale Realism
Traxxas Pro-Scale design merges scale realism with extreme 6s performance, durability, and speed. From shock reservoirs, fire extinguishers, and fans to the functional spare tires and spare driveshaft, Traxxas elevates scale realism to a new level. At the same time, it’s been engineered for hard-charging 50+ mph desert racing action.

Heavy-Duty Steel Drivetrain
The drive system uses thick steel axles and an all steel-gear drivetrain to drive all four wheels. Heavy-duty center driveshafts transfer power to heavy-duty steel ring and pinion gears front and rear. 4-wheel drive delivers maximum acceleration off road.

Direct Drive Transmission
Large steel spur and pinion gears provide the ultimate in toughness and durability. The Torque-Biasing Center Drive distributes power between the front and rear drives for maximum traction on any surface. There’s no clutch to slip, just instant power on tap when you need it. The entire transmission and motor remove as a single unit for easy maintenance.

Pro-Scale Body
Precision modeled after a full scale unlimited desert race truck, the rugged Pro-Scale body is securely mounted to the frame. The open window design showcases the intricate tube frame chassis and detailed interior cockpit. Choose either the Fox or Rigid body style to light up the desert with vibrant color!

BFGoodrich Tires and Wheels
Aggressive replica BFGoodrich KR3 tires ride on tough 17mm hex Desert Race wheels on the Fox version or licensed Method Racing wheels on the Rigid, both with bright beadlock rings. The tires are scale replicas of the 40 inch tires used on the top trucks in the desert.

Tube Cage
The rugged tube frame chassis is fully functional and an integral part of the overall unlimited desert race chassis design. The tube frame chassis provides rigid support for shocks, bumpers and suspension. The design is engineered to help absorb and distribute impacts for the rock solid durability that is required in the desert.

Side Plates
Realistic chassis side plates mount directly to the roll cage for true Pro-Scale realism. Functionally, they add structural rigidity and help keep debris out of the cockpit. Remove the body and the desert race chassis looks even more amazing and realistic.

The highly detailed interior with driver figures enhances the realism to the point that you might think you are looking at a real truck while driving. Switches, radios, safety gear, shifter, navigation…it’s all there!

Body Details
From bumper to bumper, beautiful precision molded details continue the Pro-Scale theme. The replica brake calipers and discs, floor jack with handle, batteries, fans, oil cans, fire extinguishers, and shock reservoirs provide the perfect scale touches.

Spare Tires
Like a true desert race truck chassis, two spare wheels and tires are mounted on the rear frame. Identical to the other four, each is fully functional and ready to mount. The spare driveshaft mounted to the frame is not just for looks. It is a functional spare for installation on the truck if needed.
