Traxxas T-Maxx .15

Traxxas T-Maxx .15The Traxxas T-Maxx is a nitro powered 4wd monster truck first released in 1999. Features included an ultra plush double a-arm suspension, eight oil filled coil over shocks, an anodized aluminum plate chassis with beam type supports, a 4wd drivetrain with a two speed automatic transmission and reverse, and massive 5.75“ chevron style tires. Much to the chagrin of many hobbyists, the T-Maxx was powered by a puny .15 nitro engine. Although its two speed tranny helped the .15 get the truck up to speed, quite a few RC enthusiasts chose to swap it out for a .21 nitro powerplant instead.

According to Traxxas, the T-Maxx is the best selling RC monster truck of all time. Thanks to that popularity, the original T-Maxx was just one in a long line of monster trucks to come from Traxxas including a number of variants of the T-Maxx itself. Although most would argue that a T-Maxx just isn’t a T-Maxx without its 4wd system, Traxxas eventually released a 2wd version called the SportMaxx. The SportMaxx was basically just a T-Maxx with the front drivetrain components removed and a one speed transmission. In 2002 the original Traxxas T-Maxx was replaced with the T-Maxx 2.5 and then in 2006 it was replaced with the T-Maxx 2.5R.
