Less than 24 hours after seeing the first teaser pictures, Traxxas has officially unveiled the new 1/10 Rally Racer and the details are in! The Traxxas 1/10 Rally Car features a performance optimized low-CG chassis with full time 4wd and Veineon brushless power to unleash a new kind of R/C fun. The Rally delivers true multi-terrain versatility. Tackle off-road terrain with long-travel suspension, then transition to pavement with precise handling for thrilling full-power drifts. From the rush of closed-circuit rally-cross to wide-open European rally racing, the Traxxas Rally replicates the full-throttle excitement of the full-size machines and their dynamic racing style. And since rally races don’t slow down for rain or snow, neither does the Traxxas Rally. Waterproof electronics allow rain-or-shine racing for even more realism and fun, with speed to match, 60+mph!
All-New Low-CG Chassis
The innovation designed into the Rally begins with an all-new low center of gravity (CG) chassis that’s unlike anything you’ve seen before. The battery and electronics are held as low as possible to position weight low in the chassis. Extreme Brushless Power and 4WD require a chassis that won’t flex under load for arrow-straight, hard-charging acceleration. To offer the required rigidity, smoothly integrated ribs form a triangulated structure that’s optimized for the loads imparted by the suspension and powertrain. Underneath, the chassis is ultra-smooth to reduce drag and prevent snags driving through real-world conditions, and the Rally incorporates state-of-the-art concepts to maximize speed and fun on or off the race track. The low-CG design dramatically increases corner speed and stability on tarmac, gravel, and extreme off-road conditions. On the track, the low center of gravity allows the Rally to put the Velineon power down with superior traction, resulting in hard launches and fast lap times. The Rally feels planted and secure at speed delivering realistic Rally handling and performance.
Ultra Efficient Shaft-Driven 4WD
The Rally uses just three gear meshes to drive all four wheels, eliminating the need for a multi-gear transmission. The highly efficient drivetrain spins effortlessly on rubber-sealed ball bearings, and is integrated seamlessly into the Rally’s unique chassis for optimum performance and easy maintenance. The center driveshaft is formed from extruded aluminum and extremely lightweight, contributing to the Rally’s right-now acceleration. There are no dogbones to wear, no drive cups to wobble. The extrusion process creates internal splines that fit directly and securely onto the input shafts of the front and rear drive assemblies. The shaft runs perfectly straight and true and superior rigidity and durability. Traxxas engineers highlighted this important innovation with vivid blue anodizing and a laser-etched Traxxas logo.
Old designs made servicing of 4-wheel drive vehicles cumbersome and time-consuming. Traxxas has a better way. The Rally’s modular design allows the entire front section to be removed with just five screws, and the rear assembly with just four screws. Authentic Rally Style
The Rally’s authentically-styled body is fully decorated with bold logos and graphics, ready to hit the race course right out of the box. The Rally’s all-new tires are fully licensed and duplicate BFGoodrich’s Gravel tread to accurately represent the full-size tire for the ultimate in realistic performance and control. New wheels complete the look with a 12-Spoke Rally design color-matched to the body. The new wheels are fully compatible with factory Traxxas and aftermarket tires, and feature 12mm hexes and the same offset as Slash 4X4 wheels for multi-car versatility.

The Rally’s Traxxas Velineon Brushless Power system brings the Rally to life with outrageous electric power that doesn’t know limitations and boundaries. Velineon VXL-3s Electronic Speed Control
Inside its waterproof case, the Velineon VXL-3s speed control is loaded with high-grade technology to precisely deliver maximum power to the motor. It’s engineered for today’s battery technology and beyond. Two-stage low voltage detection allows full LiPo compatibility, including powerful Traxxas Power Cell 11.1-volt 3S LiPo packs.
Velineon 3500 Brushless Motor
Extreme performance is standard equipment with the sensorless Velineon motor. Ultra high-temperature Neodymium magnets, high-speed ball bearings, and a precision balanced rotor deliver power and long life with near zero maintenance. Since there are no brushes or commutator to wear out, you always get the same blistering acceleration and ballistic top speed run after run.
TQi Radio System
The Traxxas Rally is equipped with the world’s most advanced Ready-To-Race radio system. The all-new Traxxas TQi™ arrives with a full complement of tuning features and offers the unbeatable convenience of “no channels, no crystals” 2.4GHz technology—but that’s just the beginning. Automatic model recognition instantly recalls your settings for up to 30 Traxxas Link-enabled models. Just switch on and drive, no naming or “model memory” settings required. Power up the transmitter and the model you want to drive, and the settings for that model are dialed in immediately! The new TQi 2.4GHz transmitter is fully adjustable: steering and throttle end points can be set precisely, and the Multi-Function knob can be programmed to control Steering Sensitivity (Expo), Throttle Sensitivity (Expo), Steering Percentage (Dual Rate), Braking Percentage (Dual Rate), or Throttle Trim. Race-proven in the 7-time National Champion Revo, Rally’s differentials represent the state of the art in power handling and efficiency. Precision silicone gaskets and X-ring seals allow the diffs to be tuned for specific running conditions by varying the viscosity of the fluid inside them. Differential access for tuning is quick and easy. Just remove the front or rear cover and the entire differential slides right out. Rally let’s you focus on having fun driving at the racetrack instead of being chained to the workbench scrambling through complex assemblies.
Revo-Spec Torque-Control Slipper Clutch
Another Traxxas exclusive, the Rally’s patented slipper clutch design uses special semi-metallic friction material and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates to dissipate heat and provide consistent traction control. The slipper is easily adjusted without disassembly or removal, and the unique 3-pad design is proven rugged in Traxxas’ most powerful electric and nitro vehicles. It’s the perfect compliment to Velineon brushless power and 4WD, offering the ultimate in traction control.
Traxxas’ telescoping, universal-joint driveshafts have evolved for even greater strength and articulation and are standard equiopment on the Rally. The U-joint driveshafts allow for maximum suspension movement and drivetrain efficiency, resulting in longer travel, tighter turning, and full power delivery. Extra material and fine-tuned design greatly increase torque handling. The shafts can also be used to upgrade the Slash 2WD and other Traxxas models!
Extruded Aluminum Driveshaft
The Rally’s center driveshaft is formed from extruded aluminum. There are no dogbones to wear, no drive cups to wobble. The extrusion process allows the shaft to be hollow and lightweight with internal splines that fit directly and securely onto the input shafts of the front and rear drive assemblies. The shaft runs perfectly straight and true and offers superior durability. Traxxas engineers highlighted this important innovation with vivid blue anodizing and a laser-etched Traxxas logo.
Heavy-Duty 32-Pitch Gears
Extreme brushless horsepower is never an afterthought at Traxxas–we engineer every component with the demands of brushless power in mind. The Rally driveline is built to handle the full-power thrust of the Traxxas Velineon system and accommodate future power upgrades down the road. The spur gear’s rugged 0.8 module/32-pitch teeth assure total reliability no matter how much power you pour on.
Unlike road-car rally conversions, the Traxxas Rally has huge amounts ultra-plush suspension travel that swallows up jumps and delivers incredible off-road control. All that travel gives Rally a truly authentic look and handling response that accurately simulates international rally racing, whether you’re in the dirt or on the road. The fully-optimized front axle carrier is a result of computer modeling that allowed engineers to design for maximum articulation without binding or interference. Tight steering response is always there, even at the extreme ranges of the suspension travel. Double-shear tie rods and camber links simply can’t pop off, so you always stay in control. Robust construction wards off crash damage, and oversized 10x15mm inboard bearings and 5x11mm outboard bearings are incredibly durable and smooth.
No part of Rally was overlooked in the quest for durability, precision, and performance. The dual-bellcrank design pivots on rubber-sealed ball bearings for smooth action in the harshest conditions, and an integrated cam-type servo saver protects the servo gears from crash impacts without sacrificing steering precision.
Heavy-Duty 4mm Turnbuckles
Rally’s turnbuckles have broad flats that make it easy to set toe-in and camber. The tough steel construction is ultra durable and the captured rod ends won’t pop apart during rigorous off-road pounding.
Progressive rate springs are lighter through the initial range of travel to maintain traction and composure over the usual track ruts and bumps. Hit the big jumps and the springs tighten up to prevent bottoming the chassis at the extreme ranges of the suspension travel.
Officially Licensed BFGoodrich tires
Traxxas’ attention to detail for Rally includes authentic, fully-licensed tire designs that replicate the actual racing rubber used on dirt or gravel rally circuits. The BFGoodrich® Rally Gravel tires offer superior traction on pavement, dirt, gravel, and more. The tire’s unique directional tread pattern and sidewall design is captured in high-grip rubber, right down to the raised lettering on the sidewall.
Rally 12-Spoke Wheels
Equal parts style and strength, the new rally wheels feature a new 12-Spoke Rally Replica design color matched to the body style you choose. The wheels are molded in color (not painted) for scratch-proof good looks. Fully compatible with factory Traxxas and aftermarket tires, the new wheels also feature 12mm hexes and the same offset as Slash 4X4 wheels.
