Serpent 747-e Electric Touring Car

Serpent 747-e Electric Touring CarEver since seeing the electric conversion kit we knew it was just a matter of time before Serpent released a full electric version of the 747 nitro touring car and today is the day. Check out the new Serpent 747-e electric touring car! Features include a carbon fiber chassis and top deck, beautifully machined aluminum motor and suspension mounts, carbon fiber battery holders and shock towers and a set of aluminum shocks.

Chassis
Symmetrical chassis plate for even flex and torsion in 3mm carbon fiber, lowered where the motor mounts as low as possible in the car

Top deck
The 2mm carbon fiber top deck connect the front and rear suspension

Battery holders
The battery holders are in carbon fiber and have sleeves to enable use of battery mounting taope easily

Servo mount
Very low mounted servo, a a strong carbon/aluminum holder which is centrally mounted for even flex

Motor mount
the motor is mounted on a low strong aluminum holder, which doubles as mid-shaft holder and rear anti-roll bar holder as well. The mid-shaft mounts in 2 separate holders with the ball bearing inside to enable a fast and easy change of gears

RCM shocks
Hard Teflon coated threaded shock bodies in high quality aluminum. Super smooth o-ring / bushing package, to guide and seal the spring-steel piston rods. Precision molded pistons included in 3 types. Threaded pre-load shock nuts in aluminum with o-ring inside. Light but strong nylon spring-cups. Tight fitting ball-joints in top and bottom

Front bumper
Newly designed lower front bumper with aerodynamic effects and better protection. Some parts of the lower bumper can be cut open to create more steering. The upper bumper and body mount holder connect to the lower one to create a strong structure to absorb the crashes. The foam elements ( normal or large) can still be placed but are optional

Shock towers
3.0mm carbon fiber shock towers with 3 positions for upper shock mounting. In the center you can mount the 3rd body post as needed. The 3.0mm carbon shock tower has 3 upper mounting position for the shocks and it mounts the body-poles. The camber bracket offers 8 positions to choose from, 4 inner and 4 out holes

Front brackets
A compact and super light structure of top quality aluminum parts consist of top-brackets, L and R equal bearing brackets, lower suspension bracket front, L and R equal FR-RR standing suspension holders and rear, anti-roll bar holder and Lightened machined alu brackets, equal left and right, toothed section allow setting belt tension with excenters which seat the bearings. Machined alu top brackets L and R version to hold the upper arms. Suspension bracket front . All crafty machined and grey anodized parts. The open style design allows for very fast parts exchange as needed, like belt, diff or anti-roll bar

Suspension front
Strong long double A-arm suspension with aluminum pivot balls, which pivot in light nylon cups. Medium hard nylon used for the arms to have some flex to increase grip, and make them most durable. The arms pivot on the inside on spring steel pins. The pivot-inserts are used to change roll center. Small grub screws mount in the upper bracket to control down stop. Easy to access and change ride height, front width, toe-in, caster and camber

Steering blocks/wheel axles/cvd
Very strong nylon steering blocks with 2 ackermann positions . The spring-steel wheel axles are seated in high speed bearings. The light and durable spring-steel cvd’s bring all the power to the front wheels. Wheels are mounted to orange anodized high grade aluminum hex adaptors using serrated wheel nuts

Anti-roll bar front
The ballraced wire type anti-rollbar in the front is really easy to access and change for other type or thickness as needed. The anit-roll bar is linked to the lower a-arms with a unique pivot ball/cup system, which provides direct and smooth operation and is easy to set

Servo-saver/steering
The centraly mounted steel servo-saver post fits the spring-loaded ball raced servo-saver system and steering. The inserts allow 2 ackermann settings. Due to the open design the linkages with L/R threading can be reached easily. The whole system allows for very precise steering and minimum bump steer

Rear brackets
Very open rear end design with a composition of 8 machined aluminum brackets, allowing for controlled flex and easy maintenance. The differential brackets, L and R equal, are toothed and seat the eccentric bearing holder, which allow for setting belt tension. Its very quick and easy to mount a differential and or replace a belt. The machined aluminum lower suspension brackets have roll-center inserts with 3 positions to choose from. The rear bracket is the V1 version, which is narrow than used on the 733, to achieve the new geometry together with the near lower arms and uprights

Suspension rear
The new lower rear arms together with the new uprights create the new geometry in the rear, to create a wider set-up sweet-spot with more grip and more steering. The upper camber rods connect to the carbon camber bracket with 8 mounting positions for roll-center and the camber rod is easy to access and has L/R threading for fast changes. The aluminum pivot ball system allows for fast changes in width and toe-in. On the lower inside the wishbone pivots on spring steel pins, which seat with roll-center inserts in the anodized aluminum suspension brackets

Lower rear wishbones
the composite lower wishbones feature a mounting position for the anti-roll bar linkage bracket in carbon, which moves the link position more outside and higher. Its also offers a mounting position for an optional carbon shock-mount bracket, to move the lower shock mount position further out, but for the default set-up its not needed. By placing the lower shock further out, you will get even more steering

Uprights / wheel-axles
Durable medium type nylon uprights, which seat the wheel-axles bearings. The upright offers the mounting position for the steel camber-rod with L/R threading. The durable spring steel wheel axles bring to power from the gear-diff to the wheels. Wheels are fitted on high grade anodized aluminum wheelhex adapters and secured with serrated flanged wheel nuts

Anti-roll bar rear
The ball raced wire type anti-rollbar in the rear is really easy to access from the top and change for other type or thickness as needed. The anti-roll bar is linked to the lower a-arms with a steel rod. The lower arms offers 2 mounting positions to choose from

Gear differentials
Compact, durable and light gear differential. Decision molded steel gears, 2 small and 2 large ones. Steel internal shaft. The very durable and light spring steel lightened diff adaptors connect to the driveshafts. The gear diff is same front and rear

CVD driveshafts
Spring steel, light and very durable CVD’s used in the front. Precision mounted hard steel pins

Driveshafts
Spring steel, light and very durable dog bones used in the rear. Precision mounted hard steel pins

Pulleys
Precision molded super-true pulleys, which feature holed sidewalls to let debris move out easier

Belts
Kevlar reinforced belts with fine pitch. Long lasting and smooth

Belt tensioners
2 Ball raced belt tensioners, machined from aluminum mount between the chassis and topdeck
