Tamiya Bullhead To Be Re-Released?

Tamiya BullheadIf you’ve been paying attention to the RC car world over the last few years you’ve probably noticed that Tamiya has been re-releasing many of their radio controlled models from years gone by. Most recently Tamiya announced the re-release of the beloved Tamiya Clod Buster. While that may have been expected, we got some awesome news this morning that Tamiya may also be re-releasing the Clod Buster’s sister truck the Tamiya Bullhead. The Bullhead, which was originally released in late 1990, carries most of the same parts as the Clod with the exception of the semi-truck style body and different color plastics. Due to a lack of sales, which the Clod was gobbling up, the Bullhead was discontinued in 2002. After the jump we’ve got a photo courtesy of TamiyaBlog.com which shows the Bullhead in an ad from Tamiya Japan. Here’s hoping it comes to the USA as well! Update: We bought one!!!

JConcepts Announces New 3Ds R/C Buggy Tires

Jconcepts 3Ds TiresStraight-out of the JConcepts Third Dimension are the creatively designed 3Ds 1/10th buggy race tire.  Debuted at the IFMAR World Championships in Pattaya, Thailand for the 1/8th buggy class, the 3Ds designed by Jason Ruona and tested by the JConcepts Team are a first of their kind.   Developed to be the ultimate Slick-groove tire, the 3Ds are a first to combine the high-stability design of a black groove bar tire into an individually flexible pattern of finely spaced Double Dee lugs in one package.   3Ds include the And-1 insert.

The roots of the 3Ds design came after extensive research and development over a period of 2 racing seasons.  As racing on both indoor and outdoor conditions have matured, a more flexible, supremely grippy tire design was necessary to drive the edgy, fast pace.  The 3Ds grip as a new, highly sought after, favorite in these conditions.

JConcepts Reveals Inverse Two Piece Buggy Wheels

Jconcepts Inverse Buggy WheelsJConcept revealed a new line of two piece buggy wheels this morning. Dubbed the Inverse, this innovative two piece design features 12mm hex wheel hubs designed for use with the Team Associated B4.1 and B44.1 offroad buggies. The 2-piece design provides several benefits for maximum performance and ease of use.   The inner wheel comes standard in a stealth, black matte finish providing the driver a look and feel never seen before.  In addition, the inner wheel is designed as a completely smooth surface for the cleanest fit and finish which resists debris build-up.  Previous industry standard designs with heavy ribbing have a tendency to catch debris which affects balance and weight and especially on surfaces with a lot of surface loam or loose dirt.

Pictures: Building The Tamiya Lunch Box

Tamiya Lunch Box BuildI don’t think it comes to the surprise of anyone who frequents this site that we here at RCNewz.com are big fans of Tamiya vehicles. The reasoning is simple, they offer many of their R/C cars and trucks in kit form and we love building kits. Kits were the cornerstone of what made this hobby so great back in the day and we hope to see more of them. In the past we’ve built a few other Tamiya R/C trucks but in those builds we went into detail on how everything assembled. For this build, however, we’re doing things a little different. With the Tamiya Lunch Box being such an easy to assemble kit we felt that the details weren’t needed. Instead this entire build is little more than pictures with quick descriptions! Enjoy!
