Novak Activ8 V2 Racing Brushless ESC

Novak Avtiv8 ESCNovak is proud to offer a new standard in performance and reliability with the Activ8 V2 Racing Brushless ESC. This pure, sensor-based controller is designed for the extreme conditions of electric 1/8th scale buggy/truggy racing and bashing, but can also be used in 4WD short course trucks, monster trucks, and other high powered applications using up to 6S LiPo. The Activ8 V2 features Novak’s X-Drive for super-connected throttle feel and response, a programmable BEC for today’s power-hungry servos, Super-Tuner Plus firmware for easy and complete customization, and compatibility with Novak’s Pit Wizard Plus. The Novak Activ8 is also available in a combo pack with the new Novak HD8 brushless motor.

Need a rugged and reliable controller? Look no further! The new Novak Activ8 ESC utilizes a dual-level silicone shock system for superb vibration protection, while also providing excellent protection from water, dirt, and debris. A full-coverage heat sink attached to the metal-cased MOSFETs via an advanced thermal transfer pad, and large cooling fan provide for maximum heat dissipation and cooler operating temps. The Novak Activ8 V2 is built tough and ready for the rigors of high-powered electric off-road racing and bashing.

Super Tuner Plus Firmware & Pit Wizard Plus Compatible
Novak’s Super Tuner Plus firmware has everything to deliver unmatched performance and usability in the high-end, high-voltage ESC category. On-board programming is complete, and all 20 parameters can be fully adjusted via the One-Touch button and 5 multi-colored LEDs for unlimited tuning options. The Novak Activ8 V2 includes 5 factory-set profiles, each of which is completely customizable allowing drivers to create their own blend of profiles for their applications. The Activ8 V2 is also compatible with Novak’s new Pit Wizard Plus that features a 2-line LCD display. This external programming box allows racers to save their favorite profiles to share with fellow racers, or quickly scan an ESC’s profile setting for on the fly tuning. In addition to ESC profile adjustments, the Pit Wizard Plus allows for firmware updates.

The Novak Activ8 V2 has been built to withstand anything electric 8th scale racing has in store, and uses high-quality and rugged components to ensure your vehicle keeps running pack after pack.

Internal Shock Protection
In order to keep internal components safe from shock, vibration, and the elements, there is a gasket seal and a lower shock damper both made of high-grade silicone. This dual-barrier system not only keeps the dirt out, but it prevents harsh shock damage from being transferred to the ESC. The circuit boards are actually nestled in a silicone bed and sealed along all sides.

Full-Coverage Heat Sink
For proper heat dissipation, the Activ8 V2 takes full advantage of its robust size and features a full-size, cross-cut heat sink that has direct contact with all of the power MOSFETs, using and advanced thermal transfer pad. This pad fills all the gaps and completely covers the MOSFETs. More heat transfer from each MOSFET increases efficiency and reliability. A large full coverage cooling fan and fan guard are also included.

Heavy Duty High-Power PCB
The Novak Activ8 V2 uses extremely heavy-duty and thick PC boards that are embedded with oversized, pure copper traces to ensure your ESC performs at its best. Power capacitors are connected directly to the ESC’s drive circuit and benefit from cooling exposure.

Huge Power Wires
The Novak Activ8 V2 comes factory-installed with 12 gauge silicone battery and motor power wires that are easy to replace for factory-like, re-wire jobs. These power wires don’t just have a “12” printed on them- they are top-quality, Novak Super-Flex wires.

Programmable BEC
Today’s servos are more power hungry then ever. The Novak Activ8 V2 is equipped with a high-current Pro-Switching BEC that is programmable from 6.0 to 7.2 volts using either the on-board button or the Pit Wizard Plus programming box. Providing clean and consistent power for your servo and sensitive radio systems is as important as any other feature. Novak’s Pro-Switching BEC has been designed to provide consistent power under all conditions over the entire run.

Equipped with Novak X-Drive and NovaBrakes
Novak X-Drive provides incredibly smooth throttle response while maintaining an extremely connected and controlled feel. Using advanced motor sensing and high speed monitoring, X-Drive provides the most connected and natural throttle feel to date. Drivers have continually been amazed by the smooth delivery of power while never feeling flat or soft. Where other ESCs use the bare-minimum technology for motor firing, X-Drive uses advanced motor commutation methods to ensure the cleanest and most efficient drive. NovaBrakes are continually monitoring the motor characteristics to ensure not only strong brakes, but consistent braking over the duration of the run. Consistent braking that is predictable at all RPM ranges will give you the confidence needed to go faster using your brakes.

Low-Voltage Protection
The LiPo pack voltage is monitored thousands of times per second. In order to prevent the pack from ever falling below the critical safety voltage, the ESC will simply reduce the power, slowing down the vehicle.

Thermal Protection
The Novak Avtive8 keeps tabs on its core operating temperature and will back down its power to prevent the ESC from overheating.

On-Board Temperature Diagnostics
With a quick tap of the One-Touch button, multi-colored LEDs will indicate how hot the ESC is for instant temperature information.

Error Sensing
The ESC constantly monitors various circuitry outputs to provide feedback via multi-colored LEDs, allowing for quick trouble-shooting.

Motor Lock-Up Protection
If your drive train or motor becomes bound up or jammed, the ESC will detect this and cut the power to prevent damage.

Hall Effect Sensor Test
This built-in test allows you to confirm that your motor’s sensors and sensor harness are in good working order.
