Back then Jim Jenkins, the father of the current owner of Traxxas, Mike Jenkins, started LaTrax to produce ready to run RC vehicles. While the company hasn’t released any products in quite some time, Traxxas is bringing it back with the release of the all new LaTrax Rally Car! Built with all weather fun in mind the 1/18 LaTrax Rally will be available for sale next month for the low price of just $150. Tires & Wheels
For fun on all types of surfaces, the slick tires are molded in a specially-formulated soft compound that delivers the perfect blend of slip and grip to drift through turns and shred the straights. The tires are factory-glued to 12-spoke, 1.7″ (43 mm) Rally wheels for an authentic look.

Rally Body & Cutting Edge Graphics

Foam Bumper

LaTrax 5-Cell High Capacity NiMH Battery Pack
The LaTrax is fully assembled and Ready-To-Run with an included 6-volt NiMH battery. This durable pack features heavy-duty construction, 18-gauge wires and a Molex connector for consistent power delivery, and long run times between charges. A convenient wall charger is also included. Everything you need to power-up is in the box…even 4 AA Alkaline batteries!

Three-Channel Micro Receiver
LaTrax’s 3-channel micro receiver uses 2.4GHz technology for long range and dependable performance. The radio system automatically finds an open channel so you never have to worry about radio conflicts with your friends or changing frequency crystals. The receiver is fully protected from the elements by the weather-sealed receiver box. It is also protected with full support and the Lifetime Electronics Warranty from Traxxas.

All-Wheel Drive
The LaTrax Rally is all-wheel drive for maximum traction and control on a variety of surfaces. A steel center driveshaft carries the power to the front and rear differentials.

Gear Differentials
The rugged gear differentials use a well-proven design to balance power delivery out to the wheels for precise acceleration and cornering.

Fully Independent Suspension
The fully independent suspension allows each wheel to absorb impacts without affecting the other wheels or upsetting the balance of the model. Lower control arms and upper camber links at each wheel provide the correct geometry for superior handling and control.

Bellcrank Steering
For the best turning response, the inside front wheel turns sharper (more steering angle) than the outside front wheel. The LaTrax Rally uses two steering bellcranks on the chassis to multiply the speed of the servo and provide the precise geometry for the steering angle for each front wheel.

Integrated Servo Saver
A “servo saver” is integrated into the bellcrank steering system to protect the servo gears from impacts.

Waterproof Steering Servo
Small but powerful, the LaTrax Rally’s servo cranks out 32 oz-in. of tire-turning torque for responsive steering and precise control. Waterproof, O-ring-sealed construction locks out moisture, dirt, and debris.

Easy Battery Access
The battery compartment makes battery removal and installation a snap. Keep extra charged batteries on hand for hours of playtime. The battery compartment holds 6-volt (included) and 7.2-volt (optional) battery packs.

2.4GHz Wheel Radio
The included hobby-class 2.4GHz wheel radio has a specially designed comfort grip and precision steering control. Advanced features include servo reversing, low battery indicator, and electronic steering trim control. Digital proportional output offers extremely precise and smooth steering, throttle, and braking control.

    So I presume this is a Traxxas budget brand?

    • Yep. If you compare the Latrax Rally to the Traxxas Rally you can easily see where the extra money spent on the Traxxas goes. The quality difference is quite clear but if it gets somebody new into RC then it can’t be all that bad.

    Not a bad looking car for the price but there are quite a few things that will need to be worked on before it will be worth running.

    If it weren’t for the Traxxas electronics I’d say this thing was pulled off the shelf of the local walmart. With that said I wouldn’t hesitate buying this for a really young kid.

    I freakin hate these rc manufacturers who constantly come out with multiple brands so they can pass off total junk as hobby grade. This thing looks terrible imo.

    look ppl I understand thats its not a full tilt hobby rc with brushless motors and oil filled shocks etc…its a in between model toy and hobby grade same as latrax was originally back in the 70’s I believe. its to get new ppl that cant afford a brushless 1/10 etc into the hobby and with it being traxxas you know if it breaks parts will be plentiful for years to come and they already have a bit of upgrades available and I am sure there will be a big brushless crammed into but some ppl but its there to get new ppl in not the rest of the die hard rc ppl that dump tones of money in it. I mean most of us bought a 3-400 dollar car and put that much more into it again. So seriously dont think we can expect to much on this one, I think it look fun and great for kids and pretty solid not fancy and perfect but a decent starter rc
