Closer Look at the HPI Venture FJ Cruiser

HPI Venture FJ Cruiser Chassis Just a month after seeing the first sneak peek video of the upcoming HPI Venture FJ Cruiser scale crawler, HPI releases the first body off chassis picture of the new RC truck! As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and this one spills its guts. From the look of things, the HPI Venture comes packed with a stamped steel channel frame chassis, solid front and rear axles, a four link suspension setup in the rear with a panhard bar setup up front, a 55t brushed crawler motor powered by a SC-3SWP2 waterproof ESC, a chassis mounted servo, a set of threaded aluminum shocks, a bulky front crawler bumper and a rear tire carrier. At the moment there is no word when the HPI Venture FJ Cruiser will go on sale.

Update: HPI Racing is live blogging from the Toy Fair in Nuremberg and they’ve just released a few more pictures and official information about the HPI Venture Toyota FJ Cruiser. Read their press release and see the pics below.

An all-new platform for scale crawling fanatics, the Venture combines a realistic front-motor position, metal chassis rails and realistic drivetrain with the Toyota FJ Cruiser for a fantastic off-road experience only HPI can deliver! With a licensed replica body that includes front and rear bumpers, mirrors, roof rack and rear tire mount, the Venture brings total scale realism to crawler fans. Underneath the body, the metal chassis rails support a front-mounted motor, central transfer case, telescoping driveshafts and solid axles with metal suspension pieces. Authentically scaled oil-filled shock absorbers and full-time locked differentials work with the tires for confident driving in any off-road environment.
