Since its start in 1986, HPI Racing has sold many popular RC car upgrades and accessories, but it wasn’t until 1994 when they produced their very first full RC car kit, the HPI Super F1. While HPI has made quite a few stunning RC cars over the years, few compare the gorgeous outlines of the Super F1. Unlike the vast majority of the models HPI produces today, the Super F1 was sold only as a kit. Two options were offered, a cheaper kit with a fiberglass chassis, and one with a more desirable graphite chassis. While the Super F1 looked similar to many of its competitors, it actually offered a few unique features including a double a-arm front suspension with the ability to set the caster, camber and ride height, as well as a triple pivot rear suspension system. It also was the only F1 car of the time to utilize standard 1/10 scale pan car wheels and tires. Although the HPI Super F1 has long since been discontinued, it is now sought after by HPI and RC car collectors worldwide.
