If you’ve pulled the starter on your Savage XL Octane more than ten times and it still wont start you may need to check a few things. First, make sure the choke lever is in the correct position. For a cold engine the chock lever should be horizontal for the first few pulls of the starter, then vertical to get the engine started. If the engine is already warm then you want to restart it with the choke lever in the vertical position.
It is also possible that you could have flooded the engine while trying to start it with the choke closed. If that is the case, then remove the spark plug and clean any fuel from its tip and give it a light cleaning with a wire brush. Let the fuel in the cylinder evaporate for a few minutes before reinstalling the spark plug.
