Check out the new Tamiya Neo Scorcher off-road buggy! While Tamiya has yet to release any solid information about the car, what we gather from the recently released photos is that it’s based on a conversion of the new TT02 touring car chassis dubbed the TT02B. To complete the conversion it appears numerous chassis parts were swapped out for buggy specific pieces including the shock towers, control arms, steering components, and most obviously, the body, wheels and tires. The TT02 friction shocks have also been replaced with a set of long travel oil filled units. Keep an eye out for these when they hit your hobby shop shelves this Summer!
Update: Tamiya has since released more information about the Neo Scorcher. The Terra Scorcher, a popular 4wd RC buggy model from Tamiya’s past line-up, makes a comeback as the Neo Scorcher on the TT-02B chassis! The TT-02B uses the TT-02 as s base, adding longer suspension arms, CVA shock units, and buggy bumpers to give it great off-road performance. Of course, it retains the TT-02’s excellent drivability and easy of assembly and maintenance, while motor cooling ducts and receiver case add to the model’s durability. It also includes a large wing to go with the newly-designed tough body, plus stickers based on the original Terra Scorcher’s livery design.
