HPI Racing just released the first photos of their new 1/5 scale touring car dubbed the HPI Baja 5R! Based on the Baja B5 Buggy, the 5R features a lowered suspension system designed purely for on road racing action. The first thing you’ll notice about the Baja 5R is its huge 1970 Ford Mustang Boss body which is set off by a set of vintage 8 spoke wheels wrapped in giant Tarmac Buster tires. This iconic muscle car is the perfect fit for the the rear-wheel drive Baja 5R, and the setup of the Baja 5R will let you pull off impressive, controllable powerslides for awesome realistic driving! Other features include a new on-road specific 4mm thick aluminum monocoque chassis, 23cc Fuelie gas powered engine, TF-45 2.5GHZ radio system with SFL-11MG metal gear steering servo and a foam front bumper. There is no word on when the HPI Baja 5R will go on sale so stay tuned!
