Tamiya Unveils FF-03R FWD Chassis

Tamiya FF03R ChassisThe Tamiya FF-03 front wheel drive chassis has been upgraded for 2012 with a variety of race spec hop up parts to create the new “R” version. This version of the chassis features newly designed parts including a carbon battery plate and redesigned gear case which houses an oil filled gear differential unit to further enhance performance.

Tamiya Announces Toyota 86 TA06 And TT01

Since its initial reveal at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009, sport compact cars enthusiasts have been highly anticipating the production of the Toyota 86. Also known as the Scion FR-S in America, the 86 finally began production late last year and now you can get one of your own in either the full size variant or the new Tamiya 1/10 scale radio control car version! Tamiya recently announced that the Toyota 86 body would be available on two R/C car kits including the entry level, shaft driven TT01 and the mid level , belt driven TA06.

Tamiya F104 VII Formula One Chassis Revealed

Tamiya has introduced a new version of the F104 Formula One radio control car kit. The F104 VII features a new Pivot Ball Link Rear Suspension (PBLR) like the one found on the RM-01 chassis. Compared to the previous 3-point T-bar rear suspension system, this new setup enables more precise adjustments of the chassis’ pitch and roll characteristics. Furthermore, the PBLR suspension system features a center pivot ball, an aluminum pitch damper to temper chassis pitch movement, and an aluminum roll damper and side links to control chassis roll. The new layout also increases overall traction and provides greater high speed cornering ability.

Xceed RC Unveils Three New Onroad Bodies

New Tamiya XV-01 Rally Chassis Coming Soon

It looks like the guys over at Tamiya have a new chassis in the works. The new Tamiya XV-01 features a front mounted motor design which sends power to all four wheels through an enclosed belt drive system. XV stands for Crossover Vehicle which gives you a good idea of its intended purpose. The XV-01 will serve as a common all-terrain platform which can be used for rally cars, on-road cars and even pickup trucks. We believe the first vehicle Tamiya will release utilizing this chassis is a 2008 Subaru WRX rally car with a hopped up Pro-Spec version following soon after.

JR Radios Unveils New Wide Voltage Brushless Servos

As an R/C enthusiast you probably know full well the frustrations of trying to use incompatible equipment, especially when it comes to servos designed to run a different voltage than your current setup outputs. Well JR Radios has solved this problem with their new Wide Voltage Servos. Each Wide Voltage series servo has an internal chip that senses incoming voltage which it then adjusts to. As long as your receiver is putting out between 4.8v and 8.4v the servo will adjust to it and work as intended. Other features of these new servos include 5900 steps per 120° of travel,  durable “Super Steel” gear train, and a new Slow Start function. Slow Start reduces gear and motor stress by slowly returning the servo back to center upon initial power.
